Abim was one of the districts I visited while doing my project. Abim’s population is 53,074(2002) and its economic activities are mostly agriculture related and especially cattle keeping. Abim town has an estimated population of 16,000 people.
Kotido was my second destination, Kotido has a population of 154,604(2002) and neighbours Kaboong. The people of Kotido are farmers(cattle keepers, growing crops) Kotido town has an estimated population of 20,000 people and it is found between Kaboong and Abim.
Kaboong was my third and last district while looking at Karamoja, Kaboong’s population is 384,211(2002) Kaboong’s economic activities are mostly agriculture and rearing cattle, food crops like finger millet are grown also. Kaboong town has an estimated population of 30,000 people and Kidepo valley national park is the most remote area of Uganda and covers over 144kms.
